Maleny Credit Union wins Gold…’Best Environmental Product’
Maleny’s local community credit union was announced as the winner on 3rd December 2008 of the prestigious and coveted Money magazine 2009 Gold, Best of the Best award for the Best Environmental Product, Green Appliance Loan.
The Maleny Credit Union Chief Executive Greg Stevens said that "Maleny Credit Union was delighted to receive this award, where we continue to be a leading product innovator in environmentally designed loans. Maleny Credit Union won this national award over many larger Financial Institutions."
Mr. Stevens said "The Maleny Credit Union has a proud history of supporting the environment and the Sunshine Coast Communities with its sustainable banking services. The credit union has incorporated into its own operations and staff practices measures that contribute to a sustainable environment and continues to improve on these on an ongoing basis."
The Green Appliance Loan is a personal loan of between $2,000 and $15,000, with higher amounts considered on application, with the current interest rate at an attractive rate of 9.45% p.a. This loan rewards environmentally conscious borrowers, when purchasing energy efficient goods such as fridges, washing machines and clothes dryers up to major home appliances including rainwater tanks, solar and hot water systems.
