MCU Charitable Trust t/as Maleny Community Trust
MCU is based on the Queensland Sunshine Coast. Every time you transact with MCU you are giving back to the region and building community capital. Everyone in Australia can benefit from MCU’s attractively priced products and services.
Each year MCU allocates up to 10% of before tax profit to the MCU Charitable Trust. The Trust is a tax deductible tax exempt Trust established by MCU to assist financing and support local community groups whose activities enhance the local environment and community. MCU determines the allocation of funds.
You can support the Trust in a number of ways:
- Sign up to the MCU Spare Change Program, which sweeps the cents in your savings accounts at each month end;
- The Trust can also be nominated to receive points via the Maleny IGA’s Community Benefit Fund; and
- The Trust can also be nominated to receive funds via the “Sunshine Coast Community Enterprise” Our Telco Scheme.
The Charitable Trust issue funds by:
- Making donations to community groups and not for profit groups;
- Providing sponsorship support to local organisations; and
- Joining relevant community organisations.
The Trust can also be approached to be a depository of donations for MCU approved collections, with all the funds given to the approved cause without any MCU administration fees being charged and tax receipts given to donators.
